On the 30th of January 2019, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Remo North local Government, paid a visit to the Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic, Saapade to pray along with the institution being a new year and a new session. This activity is done annually at the dawn of a new year and a new session.

The representatives of CAN Remo North Local Government ably led by Prince Toyese Adekoya and other members which includes Reverend Adewole, Most Senior Evangelist Oyegbesan, Reverend Adebayo and Mr Adewale.

There was an intense prayer session against all forces that might militate against the progress of the school in the new session and academic year. Much later, the members of staff were admonished by the words of God from the bible by Rev. Adewole who read the the bible verses : Isaiah 66 verse 13, Exodus 23 verse 20,28.

He however summarised the lessons from the bible passages as the words the lord gave the school for the year. He stressed that no matter what some members of staff might be going through presently, such as a bumpy ride and a difficult time at work, he said the lord would always comfort them and make their expectations come to reality while they keep holding on to their faiths.

Rev. Adebayo however stressed that in this turbulent election period, all members of staff and student should desist from all forms of illegal practices and avoid been used by the politicians for illicit acts.

The representative of the Rector, Mr. T.K Ogunyinka and the Registrar, Mrs T.O Raji however thanked members of CAN for their kind gestures and looked forward to more visits in the future.
