Rebranding of Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic, Saapade, through consistent positive information and communication, hard work, as well as collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in the institution, is my mandate, the Rector, Dr. Sanni Kehinde Oseni, has said.
He also said that the blueprint for the transformation of the polytechnic will prepare diplomats for the global opportunities ahead of them.
Appreciating the leadership of his predecessors, the Rector described the serenity and green culture instituted by them as worthy of emulation.
“I was once a resource person for the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). There is no higher institution in the entire country particularly Southwestern Nigeria, that enjoys the serenity and green culture of Gateway Polytechnic”, he said.
He also stressed the need for a positive attitude too work particularly the avoidance of lateness to work. The Rector maintained that a low attitude to work is disadvantageous to every staff for promotion and appointment purposes. He assured that staff will be promoted as and when due and that appointment among staff shall be measured based on merit, performance, and seniority with fairness metrics.
While addressing non- academic members of staff highlighted his specific agenda for them as:
- Prompt payment of salary
- Promotion of efficient and effective service delivery through information communication technology
- Provision of health insurance policy through the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme
- Establishment of training and development funds to cater for both local and foreign trainings of non-academic staff
- Promotion of healthy competition among staff provision of in-house trainings for staff
- Rightful placement of staff in accordance with the polytechnic condition of service
- Increase work efficacy by providing conducive office for staff
- initiation of staff award to encourage and motivate staff productivity
